On Saturday, July 22, in Srinagar, DPAP Member of Parliament and Spokesperson Adv Abhishek Singhvi asked for delaying the hearing of petitions in the Supreme Court till August 2, at which time the DPAP stated the Congress party stands exposed under Article 370.

When the hearing on Article 370 was delayed due to the Delhi ordinance, DPAP Chief Spokesperson Salman Nizami released a statement accusing the Congress party of forsaking the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

The request for a delay in the Article 370 hearings made by Congress MP and spokesman Adv. Abhishek Shinghvi before the Supreme Court (SC) while arguing the Ordinance issue was shocking and terrible. I appreciate the CJI’s decision not to give Article 370 precedence over the Ordinance. It begs the issue of where Congress stands on Article 370, given that several leaders have in the past advocated for its repeal. Nizami stated, “Only Ghulam Nabi Azad, as opposition leader, can revoke the revocation.” He continued, saying that the Congress’s stance has been detrimental to the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
