The DC of Kulgam, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat, called a meeting of Officers to discuss plans for the next Independence Day celebration in 2023. The meeting was held on August 11th.

In the meeting, it was decided that DPL Kulgam would be the primary location for the event, with the chief guest raising the Tricolour there before a parade with groups from the District Police, the Central Reserve Police Force, the Indian Reserve Police Force, the Women’s Contingent, the Police Band, the National Cadet Corps, and the students would proceed.

The details of the event’s security, traffic management, seating arrangements, Full Dress Rehearsal, decorating, PAS, power and water supply, transportation arrangements, sanitation, Medicare facilities, invitation cards, barricading at the location, etc. were meticulously discussed.

The DC issued a directive to all officers, saying, “Make absolutely sure that you have everything set up perfectly for the National event.

For the district-wide Independence Day festivities to go off without a hitch, he told the Officers to plan beforehand and coordinate closely.

Water and power, especially water tankers, must be managed properly, thus the PDD and Jal Shakti departments were given specific instructions to do so.

The Chief Medical Officer has been tasked with making certain that the party location has enough medical services, including doctors, nurses, and ambulances.

The DC has ordered the Executive Officer (EO) of Municipal Council Kulgam to ensure that the major venue and town are kept clean and sanitary.

Lighting at the mini-secretariat and other key offices was entrusted to PDD.

ADDC Showkat Ahmad Rather, ADC Viqar Ahmad Giri, SDM Noorabad Bashir Ul Hassan, ACR Mir Imtiyaz Ul Aziz, CEO,CMO, Commandant CRPF 18th battalion, DIO, Tehsildars, Dy.SP Hq., Ex. Engineers of R&B and PHE, and other district and sectoral offices of the district were present.
