August 6th, Poonch: An official news statement said that Deputy Commissioner Yasin M. Choudhary presided over a meeting to plan the launch of the ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’ campaign in Poonch district, which would be a “significant step” towards building togetherness and pride among all segments of society.

The campaign’s focal point, the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav on Independence Day 2023, would be a celebration of India’s rich history and patriotic spirit, with a specific emphasis on paying honour to the sacrifices.

The Deputy Commissioner emphasised the significance of the ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’ campaign and ordered memorial plaques to be installed at Amrit Sarovars, Panchayat Ghars, parks and other public areas to pay tribute to those who had paid the ultimate sacrifice for the country.

Assistant Commissioner Development and the pertinent Block Development officials (BDOs) have been designated as nodal officials at the district and block levels, respectively, to guarantee effective monitoring and execution of the campaign.
