On September 11, the Warden Wildlife Protection Department in Ramban issued shoot-at-sight orders to kill a leopard that had just attacked two children in the Udhampur district, one of whom was killed and the other seriously wounded.

According to the Udhampur Wildlife Department, a young person was recently murdered and wounded by a leopard.

They said there is concern that the leopard might kill people in the future, particularly children and domestic animals.

Two incidences of leopard attacks on children were recorded, in which one youngster was murdered and the other had injuries as a result, according to Deputy Commissioner of Udhampur Saloni Rai. The Forest and Wildlife Department has started preparations for installing cages and setting up tranquillizers.

Keeping in mind that the Warden Wildlife Department had instructed J & K to kill leopards on sight. Leopard eradication will be aided by the police and the wildlife agency.

To catch the leopard, eight cages were placed at various locations and 40 wildlife department employees were sent.

The Deputy Commissioner urged residents to exercise caution and report any knowledge of leopard activity. The leopard, she said, had not been seen since Saturday.
