Every year, this day is observed to remember the troops who lost their lives fighting for Pakistan in the 1999 Kargil war.

on honour of the heroic souls who lost their lives on the freezing heights of Kargil, the Raksha Mantri lay a wreath at this location of the Kargil War Memorial.

He was the special guest during the solemn memorial service.

At the Kargil War Memorial, both the Army Chief General Manoj Pande and the Navy Chief Admiral R Hari Kumar placed wreaths in remembrance of the gallant soldiers.

General Anil Chauhan, the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), also left a wreath at the Kargil War Memorial in remembrance of the Kargil War dead.

The Army conducted a news conference earlier on Tuesday to discuss the commemorative ceremony in Lamochen, Drass. An audiovisual portrayal of the fights that depicted the bravery and sacrifice of the jawans during the 1999 Kargil war opened the briefing.

The Indian Army’s jawans faced up against the Pakistani invaders amid the harsh and merciless heights of Kargil, as has been extensively reported.

The Army was successful in driving the Pakistani invaders out of Kargil throughout the fight, which lasted more than two months, and raised the Tricolour on the ground taken from the enemy.

The Dras, Kargil, and Batalik sectors of the Kargil district served as the frontlines where the fighting took place.

The solemn memorial service for the jawans—who gave their lives in the conflict—took place against the picturesque background of the highlands, where they had fought valiantly against Pakistani invaders.

The military band’s solemn sounds contributed to the troops’ solemn atmosphere as they gathered to remember Kargil Vijay Divas.

The presence of the war heroes, Veer Naris, Veer Matas, and family members of the troops who gave their lives in the line of duty during the fight graced the occasion.
