It was recommended by the DC Ramban that individuals heed the Health Department’s warnings.

In an official communique, he requested that Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Ramban look into the recent reports of conjunctivitis and dengue fever in several areas of J&K.

The District Commissioner of Ramban issued an order to the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Ramban, instructing him to maintain a heightened state of vigilance and to convene urgent meetings with the BMOs of all Ramban district medical blocks.

The DC also suggested the CMO use social media to spread awareness about the need of preventative care.

“Daily bulletins may be issued, with copies also endorsed to this office and District Information Officer, Ramban,” the communique states.

According to Dr. Kamal Zadoo, CMO of Ramban, no dengue cases have been detected in the area.

Nonetheless, he disclosed that the region has seen a few instances of the eye illness.

According to the CMO Ramban, on Thursday night, all of the BMOs from the various medical buildings in the Ramban area got together for a meeting.

A number of instances of conjunctivitis have been detected around the country, therefore “the BMOs have been asked to take preventative measures in their respective areas,” he said.

Health authorities urged the public to take precautions and see a doctor immediately if they had any symptoms.

A doctor stationed at District Hospital Ramban said, “Maintaining proper hygiene to check the spread of eye flu is one of the best preventative measures that could help keep the infection at bay.”
