Detention of OGW under the PSA

31 July, Rajouri: According to the police, an Over Ground Worker (OGW) was arrested under the Public Safety Act (PSA) for his participation in criminal activity.

Mohammad Shabir, a native of Draj, Kotranka, and the son of Noor Mohammad, has reportedly been held by police under PSA. According to the police, the detention order under PSA was issued by the District Magistrate in Rajouri, who had the proper authority to do so. The detention order was carried out by a police squad led by SHO Budhal Niku Ram Thakur.

Many OGWs in the area have reportedly been held by the police under preventative portions of the law in an effort to curtail their criminal activities.
