Director of Agriculture evaluates Anantnag's rice and other crops

On September 3, the Director of Agriculture for Kashmir, Chowdhury Muhammad Iqbal, visited a number of paddy fields in the Anantnag district and assessed the state of agriculture there. He spoke with farmers throughout the tour and got their views on the department’s different initiatives.

Speaking to the farmers, he reaffirmed the department’s commitment to provide the neighbourhood the best technical assistance available throughout their agricultural growing activities.

He urged the farmers to diversify their crop production and urged them to make the most of the many plans and programmes put in place by the department to advance the region’s agricultural industry. Regarding the state of the area’s rice, vegetables, and other agricultural crops, he expressed happiness.

Chowdhury urged the responsible personnel to collaborate with the agricultural community in order to achieve the stated objectives under the different HADP initiatives. For the efficient and effective execution of initiatives under the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme, he requested the farmers to collaborate with the department of agriculture.

Later, the Director of Agriculture visited the nutritional cereals (Bajra) trials in Ranipora Anantnag and urged the parties involved to conduct more experiments for other agricultural commodities.
