Srinagar, 2 September: The Khellani tunnel in Doda is being widened to two lanes, as reported by Nitin Gadkari, minister of road transport and highways for the Union, on Sunday. Gadkari said the improvement was made to increase accessibility in a post on X. We are widening the approach road on NH-244 and paving the shoulder of the two-lane, one-way Khellani tunnel in Jammu and Kashmir. “The entire 2.419 kilometre length of this project is included in Package 3,” he said.

He emphasised the positive effects on the local economy that would result from the improved tunnel’s year-round accessibility. To achieve fast, trouble-free, and ecologically responsible travel in the Jammu and Kashmir area “under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji,” he stated.
