Srinagar Sep 19: In a disturbing occurrence in the Pulwama district of south Kashmir’s Kashmir Valley, a man missed his wedding in the Kandizal neighbourhood of Awantipora.
Locals expressed their horror and disbelief when they learned that Mohammed Shaban, a local man with seven daughters, had married one of them to Fayaz Ahmed. Fayaz, however, had not brought Barat to Shaba’s house on the wedding day to pick up his bride.
They said that the couple’s Nikah was done four years before, and that they had planned for the groom’s celebration. However, he allegedly failed to even tell Shaban’s relatives.
When the groom still hadn’t arrived, it was late at night and the whole community was still waiting. Numerous times, we attempted to phone them, but they never picked up. Wazwan, as well as some gold reserves for the bride and some for the groom, were all things we had planned. One of the locals said, “We are fully prepared to receive the Baraat.
No girl or family should ever experience this, he added. This man’s dad had seven daughters. Just try to imagine the kind of emotional stress he is under. But, he said, “look at the horrible society we have become.
He added that the cops have to get involved and address the situation while displaying the Nikah documents and additional gold jewellery.
