Jammu, September 8: Director General of Police Dilbag Singh said on Friday that Jammu and Kashmir was experiencing increasing peace and stability as a result of the bravery of its people.

In addition, he said that the youth of Union Territory represented the evolving J&K via their extensive involvement in sports and initiatives for peace and development.

At the Shaheed Aman Memorial T20 cricket tournament’s concluding ceremony in Kishtwar, the Director General of Police made this statement.

Along with officiating at the Shaheed Aman Memorial T20 cricket tournament’s concluding ceremony, the DGP also opened the GOs’ mess, Kishtwar Police’s official website, and the E-beatbook Mobile App. He also planted a seedling to begin a plantation campaign.

The DGP said that Jammu and Kashmir Police has been holding the Shaheed Aman Thakur competition for the last four years in an effort to honour and commemorate the department’s departed heroes.

The DGP requested the public’s ongoing support in the fight against drug misuse in J&K and stressed the significance of group efforts in eradicating the problem and saving young people.

In honouring DySP Aman Thakur’s efforts, the DGP recalled that in 2019 while battling terrorists in an encounter in Kulgam, the courageous officer gave his life in a successful operation that resulted in the death of a notorious terrorist. He said that following the incident in Pulwama, a cell of terrorists was plotting another attack in the valley along the same lines, and he added that martyr Aman Thakur and his squad had pursued terrorists in Kulgam, where he himself had earned martyrdom, in order to thwart the evil plan.

He lavishly praised the victim Aman Thakur and other martyrs, pointing out that Jammu and Kashmir was experiencing more peace and stability as a result of their sacrifices. The Jammu and Kashmir Police is proud of its martyrs who gave their lives in order to defend the people and the nation, shining a light on our organisation and nation, and leaving their names inscribed in gold on our collective memory.

The DGP said, “Jammu and Kashmir Police has been providing the NoK of martyrs with all assistance and support available. Recently, an MoU was inked with J&K Bank, as part of which the NoK of martyrs would get extra financial support.

since he congratulated the winning squad, Dilbag Singh remarked that taking part was more significant than succeeding. He said, “If you keep on participating in different competitions, one day you will get the result of your hard work as participation increases the level of confidence of the players.”

Additionally, he was grateful that villagers, PRIs, and media representatives attended the celebration.

The DGP instructed for widespread exposure of these technological efforts while releasing the Kishtwar Police official website and E-beatbook App so that more residents of Kishtwar may use the police services at home. He then officially opened the GOs mess and looked over all of its amenities.

The Police Post Mugal Maidan was also formally opened by the DGP through virtual means. He also interacted with the police personnel posted in this newly-established police post. He directed them to ensure best possible service to the people of the area.
