The Jammu and Kashmir police detained a deputy superintendent of police (Dy. SP) on Thursday in Srinagar on suspicion of corruption, extortion, and fraud.
According to official sources, a police squad searched Sheikh Aadil Mushtaq’s Srinagar home two days ago.

“He had leaped out of the home to avoid being arrested. Some damning papers, electronic gadgets, etc. were found at his home during searches of a laptop.
The sources said, “An FIR was filed against the officer in Nowgam police station and he was taken into custody today.”
According to them, a SIT established under SP South would look into the situation while considering any potentially significant repercussions.
