Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (SAW) was celebrated throughout the nation with religious enthusiasm, and Srinagar was no exception. Thousands of people flocked to the Hazratbal shrine on the outskirts of Srinagar to attend the nightlong prayers.

In Kashmir, hundreds of worshippers flocked to the Hazratbal shrine outside of Srinagar on Thursday night to recite Shab, the nightlong prayers, in honour of Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (SAW), the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).

Muslims all across the globe use this day to renew their commitment to Islam and draw strength from the Prophet Muhammad’s (SAW) noble life and teachings.

It is a time of greater commitment, togetherness, and the sharing of kindness.

The message of peace, love, and empathy is reaffirmed on Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (SAW), leading to more unity among Muslims and a deeper understanding of Islam among those of diverse faiths.

On this day, religious leaders gather to reflect on the life and teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) via speeches and other worship services.

This is a day for introspection, personal development, emulation of the Prophet Muhammad’s (SAW) character, forgiving wrongdoers, and acts of kindness.

Throughout Kashmir’s most revered Masjids and religious centres, thousands of worshippers prayed through the night.

Here on the shores of Dal Lake, at the Hazratbal shrine, which also contains a sacred relic of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), the greatest assembly ever assembled.

Attending the all-night prayers and asking for Allah’s forgiveness, grace, and favour were thousands of men, women, and children.

On Friday, the revered relic will be shown to the faithful five times by the Hazratbal shrine’s high priest.

Devotees are seen sobbing, begging Allah for forgiveness, and repenting of their misdeeds at this time.

The authorities assured believers that they had made every effort to ensure their comfort at Hazratbal.

All divisions, such as Public Health Engineering (PHE), the Health Division, and the Power Development Division (PDD), are now available to the faithful.

Throughout the day, Road Transport Corporation (RTC) buses labelled “Hazratbal Special” would run between Lal Chowk and Hazratbal.

Strict measures were taken to ensure the safety of the Hazratbal shrine and its visitors.

The police were keeping a watchful eye on the parking and traffic flow.

There will also be massive gatherings at the Srinagar shrines of Asar-e-Sharief Shehri Kalashpora and Jinab Sahab Soura on Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (SAW).

Srinagar’s Masjids have been echoing with songs of honour to Allah and His Prophet Muhammad (SAW) since Thursday night.

The Khiram Hazratbal shrine in Anantnag, south Kashmir, is home to a sacred relic of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), drawing tens of thousands of worshippers every year.

Friday will see a variety of demonstrations in the southern Kashmir districts of Pulwama, Anantnag, and Shopian.

A variety of religious and secular organisations planned to hold services, demonstrations, conferences, and seminars all throughout Jammu and Kashmir.

Special prayers, Darood, and a Naat Majlis were held all night long for the occasion, according to Imam Khateeb Dargah Hazratbal, Kamaal Farooqi, who spoke to Greater Kashmir.

This celebration takes place on the birthday of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW), hence it is a momentous occasion. Thursday evenings were devoted to attending prayer services. The event kicked up shortly after the Magrib prayers, with Naat Khawani and talks on the life of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) to follow. According to Farooqi, “thousands of devotees from all over Kashmir flocked to Hazratbal to catch a glimpse of the holy relic.”

The Jammu and Kashmir Wakf Board, officials claimed, has completed preparations for the pilgrims at all of the Masjids and shrines, including Hazratbal.

The authorities have issued a traffic advice, advising drivers to stick to the designated path so worshippers aren’t inconvenienced.

SMC representatives said that the sacred palaces in Srinagar, notably Hazratbal, had been the focus of targeted cleanliness campaigns.

We had sent personnel and heavy equipment to conduct intensive cleaning of sacred sites. According to an SMC representative, “we have ensured that the devotees will face no inconveniences.”

At the same time, hundreds of people prayed at Masjids and shrines throughout north Kashmir, including those dedicated to Jamia Masjid Reshi Sahab, Kaba Marg, Dooru, and Seer Hamdan in south Kashmir.

Srinagar is home to several holy sites, including Jenab Sahab Soura, Asar-e-Sharif Shahri Kalashpora, Lal Bazar, Khanqah-e-Maula, Ziarat Hazrat Dastgeer Sahab (RA), Syed Yaqoob Sahab (RA) Sonwar, Khawaja Naqshband Sahab (RA), and Ziarat Makhdoom Sahib (RA).
