Jammu, December 25: During a special enforcement campaign launched by the State Taxes Department, Namrita Dogra, Additional Commissioner State Taxes Adm. & Enforcement Jammu, performed a surprise inspection of the Nakas placed by the DC Enforcement Central Jammu teams.

During her visit, Namrita Dogra praised the efforts of the team headed by STO, Dr. Sonika Sudan, who worked under the direct supervision and guidance of DC Enforcement Central, Ritu Mahajan.

From April 2023 to December 2023, the Central Jammu Enforcement Department collected a penalty of Rs 2.01 crore from GST defaulters for failing to carry required papers such as GST invoices and E-way bills.

Apart from the penalty of Rs 2.01 crore, a 53% increase over the previous fiscal year, 368 cars were arrested and around 103108 E-Way invoices were checked during the Enforcement (Central) Jammu drives.

During this time, the most common commodities for which fines were levied were marble and granite, metal scrap, TMT bars, and electronic items, among others.

Under the supervision of Commissioner State Taxes Rashmi Singh, Deputy Commissioner Enforcement (Central) Jammu formed several teams led by State Tax Officers Sonika Sudan, Chander Mohini, Romi Jamwal, Naresh Koul, Surinder Gupta, and Sunil Gupta.
