Srinagar, September 20: On the Tulmulla campus of Central University of Kashmir (CUK), the IT department hosted a “Induction Programme” for the incoming B. Tech Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) majors.

Faculty from IT and other departments also attended the occasion. The students were given an introduction to campus life at this occasion. Dr. Zahoor Ahmad Najar, OSD Examination, spoke to the students and urged them to think creatively and work hard in order to help solve the world’s most pressing challenges.

Dr. Yash Paul extended a warm welcome to the new students and spoke to them about the important contributions engineers make to the betterment of society.

To celebrate Engineers’ Day, the gathering was also planned. On September 15, the day of Dr. Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya’s birth, the nation celebrates Engineers’ Day. On September 15, 1860, he entered the world in the Kolar neighbourhood of Mysore. He received the Bharat Ratna in 1955 for his outstanding contributions to engineering managing the building of (dams, reservoirs, and hydroelectric projects), for which he is widely recognised as the Civil Engineer of India.
