The Lt. Governor gave a speech in which he congratulated the students and wished them well on their new adventures. He went on to say that the exceptional teachers at IIT Jammu will help students develop their skills and make their ambitions a reality.

There will be a huge need for engineers in the years to come in India. There are a lot of prospects for engineers as the country continues to invest in R&D, infrastructure, and technical innovation, as the Lt. Governor said.

According to him, India is making great strides under the Prime Minister’s leadership, and the country is quickly becoming a centre for the global knowledge economy and technological innovation.

Young people in India have a great opportunity to make their mark and carve out a successful career in engineering thanks to the ‘Make in India’ and ‘Digital India’ programmes and the country’s thriving startup ecosystem, he said.

The world is always evolving, therefore he told the kids to be adaptable by trying new things and always finding ways to surprise themselves.

We need engineers who aren’t afraid to go beyond what they’ve learned in school, who aren’t afraid to challenge the existing quo, and who see problems as opportunities rather than obstacles. The young engineers’ knowledge and enthusiasm would be crucial in propelling the Make in India and Start Up India initiatives, the Lt. Governor said.

Lt. Governor: “The engineering expertise of countries like Japan and the United States has contributed to their growth and elevated their status in the world.” He said that the world’s most powerful countries were propelled to unprecedented heights by the efforts of brilliant engineers.

Engineers who can tackle issues of urbanisation, infrastructure, and universal access to healthcare and education are in high demand in India. The Lieutenant Governor emphasised the potential of young engineers to create a more egalitarian and inclusive society.

India need engineers who can work in interdisciplinary teams and build international partnerships to solve pressing international problems. Young engineers, he remarked, “have the potential to make India self-reliant and to position it as a global leader.”

The Lieutenant Governor pushed for a modernised educational system and atmosphere in schools.

As the incubators of new ideas, universities must strengthen society as a whole. Universities can generate graduates with the ability to handle complicated issues by working with industries to address real-world concerns, he added.

To create a better future, let us use technology and creativity. I have no doubt that the creativity and dedication of our young engineers will propel our country to new heights,” the Lt Governor said.

He challenged the students to go on their future with the ambition to use their newly acquired skills, knowledge, and wisdom to improve our beautiful country.
