December 26, Jammu: The improvement of the UT subsidy from the current Rs. 16666 to Rs. 70326 for eligible Beneficiary Led Construction (BLC) beneficiaries of PMAY (U) in lieu of the Interest Free Loan (IFL) scheme was approved by the Administrative Council (AC), which convened here under the chairmanship of Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha.
Participants at the meeting were Mandeep Kumar Bhandari, the Lieutenant Governor’s principal secretary; Atal Dulloo, the chief secretary; and advisor Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar. Included among the beneficiaries under this program are BLC recipients of PMAY (U) who were recognized but had not yet finished their housing units on the day the allied government order was issued. The current preliminary stage of this step is expected to help 26419 families.
In order to enable chosen PMAY (U) recipients to finish building their homes by December 2024, the plan intends to provide them with extra financial support under the BLC vertical.
The decision was made to provide beneficiaries with more aid in finishing their homes since they have difficulties when it comes to paying for the greater house-building component in the UT.
