28th July, Srinagar: In south Kashmir’s Kulgam district, the police and army allegedly disrupted a grenade-throwing module by detaining four militant associates or conspirators, which put an end to the Yaripora grenade assault case in which numerous innocent bystanders were hurt. They have had weapons, ammunition, and incriminating documents confiscated from their possession.
According to a handout given to GNS by the police, a grenade was thrown at a police party at Main Chowk Yaripora on May 24, 2022, but it missed its intended target and detonated in the throng nearby, injuring 13 people. As a result, a case FIR No. 24/2022 was recorded at Police Station Yaripora in accordance with the relevant legal provisions, and an investigation was launched.

A police official said that four militant affiliates or conspirators were detained by Kulgam Police and the Army (1RR) as part of the investigation into the case of a terror crime. Their names have been released as Nasir Nabi Dar, son of Ghulam Nabi Dar, Mohd Abass Dar, son of Abdul Ghani Dar, Aaqib Majid Ganie, son of Abdul Majid Ganie, resident of Badroo, Yaripora, and Zahid Ali Bhat, son of Ali Mohd Bhat, resident of Kokergund, Yaripora.

They were found to be in possession of incriminating items, weapons, and ammunition, including a handgun, two pistol magazines, 14 pistol rounds, and a hand grenade. According to the statement, an investigation into the situation is ongoing.
