There are more options than ever for young people to excel in a wide range of disciplines because “street violence, stone pelting, closure of schools, colleges a history now; people living a life of their choice, going home late evening.”

Srinagar, August 5: Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha said on Saturday that four years after Article 370 was repealed, the area is at peace and young people have the freedom to pursue their own interests.

The LG made these remarks to the press during a visit to the SKICC in Srinagar to hand out certificates to BSE-trained candidates, appointment letters to Anganwadi Workers, and special assistance to those with disabilities. Protests in the streets, school and university closures totaling 150 days per year, stone throwing, and separatist are no longer occurring. The LG was quoted by a news outlet as saying that “youth today are going home late at night holding a guitar and after spending quality time on the riverfront.”

Former J&K state was divided into Ladakh and J&K UTs on August 5, 2019, after the Indian government revoked the state’s special status. People used to be seen hurrying home just after sundown, but those days are long gone. People nowadays frequent outdoor venues like parks and marketplaces.

After so many decades of oppression, he remarked, the greatest transformation is seen on the ground. Propaganda supported by Pakistan has backfired on the ground, and now everyone may relax in peace. Even if it’s just the start, in my opinion, this is the greatest accomplishment.

According to him, the J&K government has partnered with the Mumbai Stock Exchange as part of “mission youth” to help the young people of the UT succeed in a variety of disciplines. Hundreds of young people are making decisions that will affect their lives for years to come. The LG said, “We have provided youth with an abundant platform to showcase their talent and shine in a variety of fields.”
