Prime Minister Narendra Modi thanked RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das on Friday for receiving an A+ on the Global Finance Central Banker Report Cards 2023. New Delhi, September 1.
“Congratulations to Shri Shaktikanta Das, Governor of the RBI. India may be proud of this moment since it shows our financial dominance on the international scale. His commitment and vision have continued to support the trend of our country’s progress, according to a tweet from Modi on X.
In a tweet from RBI, which said, “We are happy to announce that Governor Shri Shaktikanta Das has been rated “A+” in the Global Finance Central Banker Report Cards 2023,” he was replying. The first of the three governors of central banks to get an A+ rating is Shri Das.
The Eastern Caribbean Central Bank, the Bank of Central African States, the Central Bank of West African States, and 101 other important countries, territories, and districts are among the central banks whose governors are rated in the Central Banker Report Cards, which Global Finance has been publishing annually since 1994.
Success in achieving inflation control, economic growth targets, currency stability, and interest rate management are graded on a scale from A to F. (An ‘A’ denotes a superb performance, while a ‘F’ denotes a complete failure.)
Everyone is looking to their central banks for assistance in fighting inflation, which has been exacerbated by pent-up demand and disrupted supply chains, said Global Finance founder and editorial director Joseph Giarraputo.
Along with Das, Thomas J. Jordan of Switzerland and Nguyen Thi Hong of Vietnam also received A+ ratings.
