Jammu, September 4 — On Monday, the Shikshit Bharat Committee of the Government SPMR College of Commerce organised an essay contest with the topic “Implication of Gandhian Thoughts in Today’s World” under the auspices of Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat.
A total of 25 kids took part in the exercise and shared their opinions on the subject.
Dr. Surinder Kumar, the principal, expressed his appreciation for the committee members’ efforts in organising the contests that enable pupils internalise Gandhi Ji’s teachings and principles. In a world rife with violence and terrorism, he advised pupils to live their lives in accordance with the example set by Gandhi Ji. Gandhian philosophy places a strong emphasis on nonviolence, Satyagraha, Sarvodaya, and other related ideals.
Prof. Deepshikha Sharma further said that Gandhi Ji lived by a set of ideals and beliefs. These include his faith in the strength of truth, as well as his advocacy for women’s empowerment, decentralisation of democracy, and good reforms in the educational system. She placed emphasis on choosing to fight for peace in non-violent means when it comes to reason, intelligence, and practicality.
