On July 26, Srinagar (GNS): This evening, a violent hailstorm tore through the Ajas Tehsil and its surrounding territories in the Bandipora district, leaving a path of destruction by destroying orchards and standing crops, which represent a significant portion of the local population’s main means of subsistence.
According to reports that reached GNS, Ajas, Chinpazpora, SK Payeen, and other villages were among the worst-affected areas. The hailstones that were released by the storm, which ranged in size from little pellets to enormous ones, severely damaged agricultural products, including wheat, rice, and vegetables.
Initial indications indicate that fruit-bearing trees, such as those in apple, cherry, and pear orchards, have sustained significant damage, putting the lives of several farmers and employees who depend on this industry in peril.
According to reports, several automobiles were also damaged by the weather’s ferocity.
The local community has urged the authorities to evaluate the scenario that has resulted from the situation and to provide compensation to help them recover from the damage that has been incurred. (GNS)
