20 July, Srinagar: On Thursday night, police claimed to have dismantled a gang of four honey trap operators in Kashmir’s Srinagar district.
The Srinagar police tweeted, “4 members of a honey trap gang arrested 1. Firdous Ahmed Mir of Rainawari (fake SP)” while providing information. 2. Mohd Tariq Mir of Lal Bazar, a fictitious reporter 3. The fictitious honey trap girl Ashya of Bemina 4. Masrat Mir of Habba Kadal, a bogus official with the criminal branch.They used to entice credulous individuals and demand money.
The Girl used to arrange meetings with the dupe. The other gang members would pose as professionals, such as reporters or police, and then extort the victim. In Mehjoor Nagar, one residence belonging to a female accused was used. The tweet states, “FIR no. 68/2023 U/s 392,472,419 IPC at Sadar PS.”
