Tangmarg, September 18 According to the locals, Tangmarg’s Maternity and Child Care facility has been under construction for the previous eight years.
Residents said that while their health minister had officially opened the hospital building in 2015, it has not yet been finished.
According to them, the foundation stone was set so that the residents of Tangmarg’s Subdutharan hamlet would have access to services.
“The building was supposed to be finished in three years, but even after almost eight years have passed, it is still unfinished,” they said.
They further said that in March of this year, Chief Medical Officer Baramulla, Director of Health Services Kashmir, and Secretary of Health and Education Bhupinder Kumar visited the site and gave an assurance that it would be finished in a short period of time.
But his certainty turned out to be an illusion as well. Pregnant ladies aren’t gaining access to the hospital’s amenities because of the building’s construction delay, they said.
