Bandipora book fair: despite digital temptations, students are encouraged to read more

The International Delhi Public School Bandipora conducted a two-day mega book fair in partnership with the district government Bandipora and the education department Bandipora, which was officially opened on Thursday by Dr. Owais Ahmad, the deputy commissioner for Bandipora.

The pupils and other attendees on this occasion gave the Deputy Commissioner a warm welcome.

In the presence of JD Planning Imtiyaz Ahmad, the president of the private schools association, the principal of GDC Bandipora, senior residents from the district, as well as young people from Bandipora, the Deputy Commissioner officially opened the event on this occasion. Numerous students from various educational institutions in the area came to the event.

The Deputy Commissioner looked at a variety of booths, including those selling books and stationery, during the event. The DC was told that the fair would last for two days and that a variety of books will be maintained physically accessible to attendees in various stands.

In his remarks to the pupils, the DC noted the value of offline book reading in addition to online book reading. He counselled pupils to learn as much as they can. The DC warned them to avoid spending time on pointless activities like excessive internet use and other platforms that might be time-wasting. The DC sent the youngsters his warmest wishes for their future.

On this occasion, a number of cultural performances were given that showcased Kashmir’s rich cultural legacy.

In their remarks, students praised the district government and IDPS Bandipora for organising the event, saying that it helped them broaden their knowledge of the globe.
