Jammu, August 22: On Tuesday, police and security officers in the Panjgrain region of Nagrota in Jammu district were able to defuse an improvised explosive device (IED), according to the police in Jammu.

The SSP Jammu According to Chandan Kohli, an unidentified object was seen early this morning beside the highway in the town of Nagrota in the Indian state of Jammu.

“Right away, a further in-depth investigation of the nature of the item got underway. The Bomb Disposal squad was sent to the scene, the SSP said.

During the course of the inquiry, he revealed that the item that had been deemed suspicious was, in fact, an improvised explosive device (IED).

He went on to say that it had been neutralised by the Technical Team and the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) using a mechanism that was under control.

An official complaint under the applicable provisions of the law has been filed, and an inquiry has been initiated.

He indicated that further information will be provided in the appropriate manner.
