23 August in Srinagar: Vijay Kumar, Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Kashmir Zone, said on Wednesday that it is encouraging to see young people in Old Srinagar actively engaged in sports while urging them to focus on their education and other healthy pursuits.

The fact that young people in Downtown are engaging in sporting activities, according to ADGP Kashmir, is highly encouraging and is a positive indicator. It demonstrates their zeal and love for sports.

On the sidelines of an ANN cricket tournament taking place in the Rajouri Kadal neighbourhood of the city, Vijay Kumar was speaking with media. He praised the J&K Sports Council’s efforts and noted that it has held several sporting events in Srinagar and other areas of Kashmir.

The Kashmir Police Chief emphasised the need to improve connections between the public, the police, and the security forces. “The people-friendly relationship of J&K Police and other security forces have generated confidence among all stakeholders,” he said.

“Youth involvement and love for the game were shown at various sporting events by their scores. It is encouraging to see so many young people participating in sports. I think similar activities should happen more often in the future,” he added, adding that the J&K Police’s community-focused initiatives had rekindled public faith in the security apparatus.

The ADGP of Kashmir asked the young people to focus on their education rather than follow negative pathways. He complimented ANN News, one of the event organisers, and stated, “At the same time, I appeal to the parents to keep watch on their wards and get them engaged in healthy activities.”

Vijay Kumar also voiced worry about drug misuse and urged young people to stop engaging in it. We support Kashmir’s young and believe they will stop any evil plans in their tracks.

In addition, ADGP Kumar urged parents to keep a close eye on their kids’ welfare and well-being since they have a significant impact on how those kids turn out in the future.

The fact that a cricket tournament was being televised live on television from Rajouri Kadal made the occasion a historic one. A number of teams from the Srinagar area participated in the competition, which inspired the kids to be competitive. In a release from ANN, it was said that ADGP Kashmir Zone Vijay Kumar “took the opportunity to thank the ANN News team for successfully staging this great competition in the heart of Srinagar.
