Srinagar, August 19: The Special Investigation Unit (SIU) Awantipora conducted searches on Saturday in the Wopalwan area of Awantipora as part of its ongoing crackdown on terror-related groups and individuals.
The searches were carried out in connection with a case that is referred to by the FIR number 01/2023 of the GRP Awantipora.
The residence of the accused, Sheikh Sayurl Nisar, son of Nisar Ahmed Sheikh of Wopalwan Awantipora, was searched, as stated in a statement that was sent to the news agency known as the Kashmir News Observer (KNO), which reported that the searches had taken place.
During the search, standard operating procedures (SOPs) were adhered to in the appropriate manner, and significant information and evidence was gathered by the SIU Awantipora, according to the police—(KNO).
