Doda: As the two-day e-waste collection cum awareness booth programme completed successfully today, the joint efforts of the Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) and the Central Bureau of Communication (CBC) in Doda, J&K, marked an important milestone.

The goal of the e-waste collecting station, a collaborative project of CBC and DIPR Doda, was to increase community awareness of the dangers of dumping electronic garbage at random while also offering a practical and environmentally responsible disposal option.

The position of the collection booth was carefully considered so that locals could readily reach it.

Khanji underlined the importance of proper e-waste management at the closing ceremony. We must all work together to solve the enormous danger that electronic waste pollution poses to our environment. I applaud CBC and DIPR Doda for their efforts in raising awareness and offering a suitable route for disposing of e-waste, and I believe that this E-Waste Collection Booth project is a step in the right direction,” he stated.

“We believe in the power of information and community involvement,” the district information officer (DIO) said. Through this project, we have educated the public about the effects of incorrect disposal on the environment in addition to collecting electronic garbage. The community’s passionate engagement is encouraging.

Residents of Doda responded positively to the idea of the e-waste collecting station, and a sizable quantity of electronic debris was collected throughout the course of the two-day event.

Environmental rules will ensure that the gathered e-waste is properly handled and disposed of.

All the participants, volunteers, and sponsors who helped make this effort successful are thanked on behalf of DIPR and CBC Doda.

They also pledge to keep organising these community-focused events to raise awareness of environmental problems and encourage sustainable behaviour.
