On September 19, Kargil Police continued to make progress in their fight against drug trafficking and substance abuse by finding 18 kg of poppy straw in a gasoline truck near the Drass neighbourhood of the Kargil district.
An official said that a police team from police station Drass stopped a petroleum tanker with the registration number HR37E 7373 at NH1D close to Thasgam region of Drass during a Naka checking. Approximately 18 kg of a material resembling poppy straw were found inside the tanker during inspection and were confiscated. One defendant was taken into custody. In this respect, Police Station Drass has filed Case FIR No. 25/2023 u/s 8/15 NDPS Act, and further investigation is ongoing, the officer stated.
