On the night of Sunday into Monday, August 21st, a truck carrying grains went into the river along the Jammu-Poonch route, according to government sources in Srinagar.

According to GNS, a truck operated by a man named Sonu from Jalandhar Punjab and registered with the number PB06Q 7165 crashed into a river not far from the Tatya hamlet in Nowshera.

They said that “upon intimation, local army and police stationed in the area launched a joint operation at the site.”

They claimed, “The truck’s wreckage was recovered during the overnight operation, but the driver has yet to be found.”

A police officer has confirmed that search and rescue operations are now underway at the scene in an effort to find the missing motorist.
