Srinagar, September 11 (KNO): Jammu and Kashmir police have seized the property of a known drug trader in the Pulwama region in south Kashmir.

According to a spokeswoman for the Kashmir News Observer (KNO), police today attached a single-story, under-construction home worth at about Rs 7.88 lakh belonging to infamous drug trader Zahoor Ahmad Wani in Jindwall village under the NDPS Act 1985.

According to the statement, the residence was related to case FIR No 47/2023 of Police Station Rajpora under relevant parts of legislation.

“The investigation established that the immovable property was acquired through illegal trafficking by the drug peddler.” Police have delivered a major blow to the illicit operations of drug peddlers participating in the organised illegal narco trade by targeting and freezing their unlawful assets.”

It went on to say that depriving these criminals of the revenues of drug trafficking is a critical step in limiting their power and weakening the Valley’s drug trade—(KNO)
