Srinagar, September 19: In connection with the groom’s disappearance on the day of the reception in the Awantipura region of South Kashmir, police have filed a FIR and detained the groom and his father.
The groom and his father were both afterwards detained, according to a statement from the police, who claimed to have taken note of the situation by filing FIR No. 182/2023 at the Awantipora Police Station in accordance with the applicable legal provisions.
Shazia Akhter filed a written complaint with the Awantipora Police Station against inhabitants of Kandizal Awantipora Fayaz Ahmad Dar and his father, Mohammad Shahban Dar, who is the son of Gh. Qadir Dar. The lawsuit alleged that after conducting the Nikah earlier, her wedding celebration with Fayaz Ahmad Dar was set for September 16, 2023.
However, according to the statement, everything was set up for the groom’s arrival and the wedding procession.
The statement continued, the groom’s side unexpectedly cancelled the wedding celebration, alleging the groom’s absence and his reluctance to attend the ceremony, therefore nullifying the Nikah that had been done earlier.
