FIR filed; POCSO Act booking for accused

28 August, Srinagar: Waseem Raja, the son of Ali Mohd Malla and the present imam of Masjid Aisha Malikangan in Srinagar, was caught in a sad incident, police reported today, for allegedly perpetrating an unnatural sexual assault on a 9-year-old kid.

At Maharaj Gunj Police Station, a First Information Report (FIR) with the reference number 30/2023 has been filed.

In addition to sections 5 and 6 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, the accused has been charged with violating sections 377 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
