December 16, Srinagar: In the next Tulip exhibition, scheduled for March–April 2024, Asia’s biggest Tulip Garden will showcase around 1.7 million tulips, according to authorities.

Javed Masood, the Floriculture Officer and In-Charge of the Tulip Garden, told Greater Kashmir that the garden’s bulb planting would be completed in a few days. He said that construction is proceeding at full speed in order to have the garden ready for local, national, and international tourists in every aspect.

According to him, additional bulb types have been introduced this year to better display to guests the splendor of Asia’s biggest tulip garden.

It is his goal that the number of people visiting the garden this year will break all prior records. Nearly 3.75 people, both domestic and foreign, visited the garden in 2023. In the next Tulip event, we expect to smash the record,” he said.

The biggest tulip garden in Asia, the Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden in Srinagar, covers an area of over 30 hectares (74 acres). The garden, which was constructed on a sloping plot of land with seven terraces with a view of Dal Lake, is located in the foothills of the Zabarwan range.

Depending on the weather, the garden will probably be opened at any point after March 20 of next year.
