Manipur has prolonged the internet ban for five more days owing to violence and falsehoods.

In response to reports of ongoing unrest in various parts of the state, the administration of Manipur has decided to keep the internet blackout in place across the state for an additional five days. The state police on Saturday issued an order that extended the internet ban until October 26. The order cited worries about law and order as well as the threat of violence.

This comes only a few days after Chief Minister N. Biren Singh gave the people the assurance that the limitations would be abolished in the near future.
