U.S to send military assets closer to Israel : Pentagon Announces
The U.S. is also considering the evacuation of Americans from Israel. Some Americans might go aboard Navy ships, but nothing is determined.
Defence Secretary Lloyd Austin said that the United States would begin providing Israel with bombs and other military supplies immediately and that an aircraft carrier strike group and military aircraft would be moved closer to Israel as a show of solidarity.
The USS Gerald R. Ford Carrier Strike Group, according to Austin’s Sunday afternoon statement, has been sent to the eastern Mediterranean. A Ticonderoga-class guided missile cruiser and four Arleigh Burke-class guided missile destroyers make up the fleet’s other major vessels.
Also, “we have taken steps to augment U.S. Air Force F-35, F-15, F-16, and A-10 fighter aircraft squadrons in the region,” he stated. U.S. officials have also said that they are “quickly” sending the IDF “additional equipment and resources, including munitions.” As of today, first security aid is being mobilised and will arrive within the next several days.

The assets, particularly the ships, will not be in position for many days, according to two U.S. sources with knowledge of the plans.
