Passenger private cars, HMVs, and load carriers will be permitted from both sides on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH-44), viz., Jammu towards Srinagar and vice versa. This is subject to good weather and decent road conditions. It is important for commuters to maintain proper lane discipline.
SFs Convoy Movement: Subject to favourable weather and excellent road condition, vehicles belonging to the Security Forces would be permitted to travel from both sides of the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH-44), moving from Jammu in the direction of Srinagar and vice versa, on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway.
The SSG Road
Movement of vehicles along the Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumari route would be permitted from both directions, namely from Srinagar in the direction of Kargil and vice versa, provided that the weather is favourable and the road is in excellent condition. LMVs, followed by HMVs, will be permitted to travel from Minamarg in the direction of Srinagar between the hours of 07:30 and 1100. The same applies.
LMVs, followed by HMVs, will be permitted to travel from Sonamarg in the direction of Kargil between the hours of 1300 and 1700. After the designated cutoff times, no vehicles will be permitted.
The Special Forces Convoy that travels from Srinagar to Kargil is scheduled to depart from Srinagar at 8:00 a.m.
The SFs Convoy that travels from Drass to Srinagar is required to organise its journey in such a way that there would be no disruptions to the flow of civil traffic.
Vehicle traffic on the Mughal Road will be permitted to go in both directions, from Poonch in the direction of Shopian and vice versa, provided that the weather is clear and the road is in excellent condition. These cars will be permitted to leave Behramgalla (Buffliaz) and Herpora (Shopian) beginning at 6:00 a.m. and continuing until 6:00 p.m. After the time limit has been reached, no vehicles will be admitted.
ADVISORY: Residents are urged not to travel on National Highway 44 until they have first confirmed the status of the road with one of the following traffic control units: Jammu (0191-2459048), Srinagar (0194-2450022, 2485396, 18001807091, 103), Ramban (9419993745), Udhampur (8491928625), or PCR Kishtwar (9906154100) for the status of Sinthan Road.
