November 24, Jammu Today at the Convention Centre Jammu, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha delivered a speech marking the conclusion of ‘Audit Week’.

In his speech, the Lt. Governor expressed gratitude for the audit community’s efforts to promote accountable and transparent government.

He said we have a chance to consider the vital role the audit community plays in advancing good governance and influencing the governance environment of our country during the week-long festivities of Audit Day.

In order to improve the lives of those waiting in line for development, the Lieutenant Governor said, “The public audit guarantees that every rupee is well spent.”

The Institute of Comptroller and Auditor General of India is one of the first organizations founded to promote accountability, honesty, and openness in public life. He remarked that the Auditor General would be the most significant officer in democratic processes, as our predecessors had clearly believed when they drafted the Constitution.

As per the Lieutenant Governor’s observation, Baba Saheb Ambedkar stated that the most significant role in the Indian Constitution is that of the Auditor General. It is only up to him to ensure that no expenditure exceeds the limits approved by Parliament or those stipulated in the Appropriations Bill.

The Lieutenant Governor made an effort to get the government agencies to address the issues promptly.

During this reform age, he said, the audit community should make an effort to provide the audit report and pertinent information as soon as possible to enable prompt action on policy and program review.

“The Lieutenant Governor stated that audit findings and recommendations ought to be regarded as a roadmap to ensure that every dollar of public funds raises the standard of living for the average citizen.”
