Srinagar, September 12: Today, Chief Secretary Dr. Arun Kumar Mehta reviewed the plans for the ‘GI Mohatsav’ that is scheduled to take place at Kashmir Haat in the first week of October this year.

The Chief Secretary went through all the plans for making the scheme a success during the meeting. He suggested that the responsible Departments look into the possibilities of including some additional artistic and cultural themes into this Mohatsav in order to boost attendance.

He instructed them to investigate the idea of including subjects of general interest such as music, art, essay writing, food court, and others to draw crowds to the location and make this Mohatsav appealing to people from all walks of life.

Dr. Mehta further instructed them to urge everyone who has a direct or indirect interest in GI tagging to participate. He also urged them to support those who were discovered as part of the Information Department’s “Beats of J&K” or Panchayat level talent search.

roughly 100 items with GI tags, including roughly 25 from the UT, were presented at the conference, according to Shailendra Kumar, principal secretary of the department responsible for agriculture production. He continued by saying that in addition to the GI Mohatsav, the ‘Mohatsav’ will also include flower, fruit, and vegetable exhibitions at the location.

Other plans that needed to be developed for this program’s effective execution were also reviewed during the conference. In addition to discussing the media strategy for widespread promotion of this Mohatsav in Radio and public areas, it also discussed the preparations for boarding, housing, and transportation for the artists travelling from various regions of the nation.
