Baldev Prakash, who spoke on the occasion, said, “Responding to the call of the Prime Minister, we feel pleased to be part of this symbolic country-wide cleanliness initiative that in substance aims at making the rising India hygienic as well as healthy.” In particular, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called on people to take part in the ‘Shramdaan’ as part of the Swachh Bharat drive.

Sunit Kumar, division head and general manager, oversaw the city’s cleaning campaign. In addition to cleaning up their own zones, branches also cleaned up their immediate surroundings to provide a clean, sanitary environment.

At the same time, lead district managers (LDMs) around the state led cleaning campaigns, sweeping and mopping public spaces, and disposing of trash and other debris. Srinagar, Budgam, Anantnag, Baramulla, Kulgam, Bandipora, Kupwara, Ganderbal, Shopian, and Pulwama are some of the districts in the region.

In addition to the Leh district in Ladakh, Rajouri and Poonch are also served by J&K Bank as their primary banks.
