J&K gets the top award at the Mental Health Conclave for Tele Manas

Srinagar, 10 October: At the Mental Health Conclave on Mental Health Day in 2023 in New Delhi, Jammu and Kashmir earned first place for their Tele Manas effort.

Bhupinder Kumar (IAS), Secretary Health & Medical Education J&K, and the Programme Manager for Mental Health NHM JK accepted the award. For their remarkable efforts on the programme, Dr. Arshid, Nodal Officer IMHANS, and his Tele Manas Team were also specifically acknowledged.

Since its debut on November 4, 2022, the Tele Mental Health Assistance and Networking Across States (Tele-MANAS) cell at the Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences Srinagar (IMHANS) has fielded over 25000 calls from Jammu and Kashmir.

According to official statistics, the cell has so far received 25140 calls, with 2238 of those calls being user-initiated.
