July 31 in Srinagar: During today’s “LG’s Mulaqaat” at the Civil Secretariat, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha spoke with the residents who had filed complaints on JKIGRAMS.

The Lt. Governor also examined the actions taken by the Deputy Commissioners and other relevant authorities in response to previous citizen complaints.

According to the Lt. Governor, increased public confidence in grievance redressal mechanisms is a sign of an efficient system, better public services, responsiveness, and dependability.

“To assure a high standard of living and socioeconomic development, it is essential for the different administrative agencies to be responsive. According to the Lt. Governor, the implementation of all welfare programmes is promoting inclusive growth since it is built on the values of transparency and honesty.

In response to Manmeet Singh’s complaints about the Revenue Department and the implementation of the water supply scheme and Haji Amir Ud Din’s complaints about Ashtangoo, Bandipora, the Lt. Governor ordered the concerned Deputy Commissioners to personally visit the scene and submit a report to the Lt. Governor’s Secretariat.

The Lt Governor was alerted by Anayat Parvez of Lohai Malhar, Kathua, to the building of a bridge across the Bheni River in his community. The Principal Secretary of Public Works (R&B) then told the chair that the project’s construction would begin in the next months.

In response to complaints about the approval of land compensation made by Jahangir Hassan Sheikh from Baramulla and Aman Hussain from Ramban, the Lt. Governor instructed the Divisional Commissioners and concerned departments to evaluate the issues on the merits.

The Deputy Commissioners were instructed by the Lt Governor to investigate any outstanding complaints or cases and submit action taken reports to the secretariat of the Lt Governor.

The Kissan Sampark Abhiyan in the Districts shall also be under the scrutiny of the Deputy Commissioners. District governments need to prioritise Swachhta Abhiyan, he said.

He also encouraged the authorities to ensure that support desks for industrial investment applications are operationalized at the District level.

The Lt. Governor also evaluated the power situation, the efforts being made to put a stop to beggarly behaviour, the saturation of unique identification cards, and the narrowing of the gap in the awarding of old age pensions.

To decrease accidents, he noted, road accidents caused by ageing and damaged cars need to be thoroughly investigated.

The Lt Governor commended everyone who worked hard to ensure that Muharram and the present Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra went off without a hitch.

He also went through the departments’ and district administrations’ preparations for the Fourth of July holiday.
