Srinagar, 5 October: The Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (JKDFP), which is run by its imprisoned founder, Shabir Ahmad Shah, has been formally designated as an “unlawful association” by the Indian Ministry of Home Affairs.

Concerns about the organisation’s participation in anti-national actions prompted the decision.

According to a notice sent by the MHA today, Shabir Ahmad Shah, a well-known separatist renowned for his anti-India and pro-Pakistan propaganda, founded the Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (JKDFP) in 1998.

“The JKDFP’s founder referred to Kashmir as a ‘conflict’ and rejected any possibility of a resolution within the bounds of the Indian Constitution.

It stated that “the leader or members of the JKDFP have been involved in raising funds through various sources, including Pakistan and its proxy organisations, for perpetrating unlawful activities, including supporting terrorist activities and sustained stone-pelting by security forces in Jammu and Kashmir.” It continued, “The members of the JKDFP have been at the forefront of secessionist activities in Jammu and Kashmir and want to create a separate Islamic state.”

According to the notice, the JKDFP and its members exhibit blatant disregard for the nation’s constitutional system and governing body through their actions.

It also noted that “there have been a number of inputs showing linkages of the JKDFP with banned terrorist organisations. ” The JKDFP and its leaders or members, particularly its founder, Shabir Ahmad Shah, “have been indulging in unlawful activities that are prejudicial to the integrity, sovereignty, security, and communal harmony of the country,” it said.

According to the statement, the JKDFP and its members have engaged in violent “terrorist activities with an intent to create a reign of terror in the country, thereby endangering the security and public order of the state, and their anti-national activities also show disrespect and disregard for the constitutional authority and sovereignty of the state, thus necessitating immediate and prompt action against the organisation.”

According to the Central Government, the Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party will use this opportunity to continue its anti-national activities that are “detrimental to the territorial integrity, security, and sovereignty of the country, and it will continue advocating the secession of Jammu and Kashmir from the Union of India while disputing its accession to the UN if there is no immediate curb or control of those activities.

According to the JKDFP, it will intensify its insurrectionary activities, including attempts to carve out an Islamic state within the borders of the Union of India by toppling the legal government. It will also keep spreading anti-Indian sentiments among the people of Jammu and Kashmir with the goal of upsetting public order.

The Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (JKDFP) was declared an “unlawful association” for a period of five years for the following reasons: “The Central Government is firmly of the opinion that, having regard to the activities of the Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party, it is necessary to declare the Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (JKDFP) as an ‘unlawful association’ with immediate effect.
