Srinagar, September 19: The Kashmir Traders Alliance (KTA) has formally requested that the Jammu and Kashmir Agro Industries release all outstanding payments owing to its members.

Aijaz Ahmad Shahdhar, the president of the KTA, expressed his deep concern for the suppliers’ and contractors’ plight in a statement, saying, “Our members have been under tremendous financial stress as a result of the protracted delay in receiving payments from J&K Agro Industries and also pending liabilities in treasuries across Kashmir. Their livelihoods are now under danger, in addition to the effects this has had on their commercial operations. We humbly request that the authorities step in to secure the quick delivery of these funds, which are due to our members.

The Kashmir Traders Alliance is steadfast in its aim to ensure the financial security of its members and assist the development of the regional economy even as the environment continues to change. The coalition anticipates prompt action from the government to allay their worries and assist the delivery of long-overdue payments from J&K Agro Industries, according to Shahdhar.
KTA, which represents a sizable number of merchants in the area, has voiced rising worry over the financial difficulties that its members are experiencing as a result of the payment delays.

Shahdhar stressed the importance of assisting Jammu and Kashmir’s small company environment, which is essential to the development and stability of the local economy. The government’s commitment to assisting small companies in the community has been rocked by the delayed payments, which have also created financial hardship.

Haji Ghulam Ahmad Laigaroo demanded that the government speed up the dispute-resolution procedure and provide a precise timetable for the distribution of outstanding funds.
