Oct. 18 in Jammu: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) raided eight places connected to him, including his home, the day before. On Wednesday, Chowdhary Lal Singh, head of the Dogra Swabhiman Sangathan party and a former minister, said that the government was abusing “power to harass political detractors.”

In an interview with the media in Kathua, Singh said that these ED raids were a way for the government at the time to bother people and weaken democracy. “Not even when we were in charge did we do that.” “People who abuse power can’t focus on progress,” he said. When asked about the ED raids on his home and other places, Singh said that he fully worked with the police. “They looked for 13 hours.” Earlier, searches were done by the CBI. They sent ED this time. They did what the government told them to do. “We didn’t get in the way of their work,” he said.

Later, he spoke to his supporters and asked them to come with him to work out a plan for a protest against the BJP government on October 22. He said that the government “failed to deliver on the promises made to the people despite getting their votes and overwhelming support in two consecutive elections.”

It’s important for everyone to understand that we will start a movement to get justice, he said.
