Participates in Jammu’s Kailakh Sanskrit Ratna Puraskar

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha made this plea to the youth of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday, August 1st, in a speech delivered at Jammu University.

Following his attendance at the Kailakh Sanskrit Ratna Puraskar event in Jammu, an official spokeswoman in this city released a statement in which the LG was quoted as telling the young people in attendance, “It should be our collective responsibility to create a better society and contribute in enriching cultural heritage.”

At a ceremony hosted by the Shri Kailakh Jyotish and Vedic Sansthan Trust, he gave Param Pujya Mahamandleshwar Acharya Shri Swami Vishveshwar Anand Giri Ji Maharaj the Kailakh Sanskrit Ratna Puraskar for this year.

Sinha gave thanks to the Mahamandleshwar Acharya Shri Swami Vishveshwar Anand Giri Ji Maharaj for his work advancing Sanskrit and religious organisations.

“Swami Ji has a wonderful plan for the progress of the nation. Sinha urged today’s youth to “draw strength from his life and teachings and commit themselves to preserving our tradition, culture, and social values.”

He praised the efforts of the Shri Kailakh Jyotish and Vedic Sansthan Trust and similar groups that are working to spread the Sanskrit language.

My life’s work has been dedicated to advancing Sanskrit as the language of the people. Sanskrit is one of the world’s oldest living languages and a wealth of information in the fields of science, health, literature, and the very meaning of life itself may be gleaned from it. The LG emphasised the need to increase promotion of the concept.

Like the government in Delhi and the state government in Jammu and Kashmir, he was committed to preserving India’s rich cultural history.

To realise the vision of a modernised India, Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged Indians to shed their colonial mentality and embrace their heritage. We have a lot of history to be proud of. When implemented, it brought us a golden age, and when implemented again, it would make India the most powerful country on the planet, Sinha added.

He promised that the government would do all in its power to help groups and people who were working to restore traditional cultural norms.

Shri Mahamandleshwar Acharya, Param Pujya In his remarks, Shri Swami Vishveshwar Anand Giri Ji Maharaj praised the LG for its tireless promotion of the Sanskrit language and its focus on Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University.

Former minister Sham Lal Sharma praised the J&K government for its efforts to spread knowledge of Sanskrit and improve the state’s sacred sites.

President of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad in Delhi, Kapil Khanna, spoke at the event as well, emphasising the need of spreading the use of the Sanskrit language.

Sanskrit performances and a play on Shankaracharya were given by students from Chudamani Sanskrit Sansthan, Basohli as part of the cultural event.

Mukesh Singh, the Additional Director General of Police in Jammu; Avny Lavasa, the Deputy Commissioner; Shakti Pathak, the Deputy Inspector General; and Mahant Rohit Shastri, the President of the Shri Kailakh Jyotish and Vedic Sansthan Trust, all attended.
