On 23 August, the Lieutenant Governor of Srinagar, Manoj Sinha, expressed his congratulations to the ISRO and the whole field of space scientists for the successful landing of Chandrayaan 3 on the moon.

India has now made history by landing a spacecraft on the south pole of the moon, making it the first nation to do so.

The Lieutenant Governor tweeted: “India is on the moon! Congratulations to the team at ISRO on the success of the #Chandrayaan3 moon mission. An absolutely significant accomplishment and turning point for India’s space programmes.
