LMV passengers, private cars, HMVs, and load carriers will be permitted on both sides of the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH-44), viz., Jammu towards Srinagar and vice versa, subject to fine weather and excellent road conditions. It’s important for commuters to stay in their lanes.
Vehicles belonging to the Security Forces (SFs) will be permitted to travel from Jammu in the direction of Srinagar and vice versa along the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH-44), provided the weather is favourable and the roads are in decent shape.
ROAD SSG
The Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumari Road will be open for vehicle traffic in both directions (from Srinagar to Kargil and vice versa) when the weather is nice and the roads are passable. From Minamarg, traffic headed towards Srinagar between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. must consist of LMVs followed by HMVs.
From Sonamarg to Kargil, LMVs followed by HMVs will be permitted between 1300 and 1700. When the gates close, no cars will be let in.
The SF convoy travelling between Srinagar and Kargil will depart at 8:00 a.m.
The SF convoy that travels between Drass and Srinagar must arrange its route so that it does not interfere with civilian traffic.
If the weather is nice and the route is passable, vehicles may travel from Poonch to Shopian and vice versa via the Mughal route. Between the hours of 06:00 and 18:00, drivers of these trucks may leave Behramgalla (Buffiaz) and Herpora (Shoplan). When the clock strikes midnight, no vehicle is permitted.
