Lt Governor lays foundation stone, dedicates Rs 290 Cr development projects in Anantnag

ANANTNAG, the 16th of October: Today in Anantnag, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha presided over the inauguration of a number of different construction projects and was responsible for laying the foundation stone for one of them.

On this occasion, the Lieutenant Governor sent his congratulations to the District Administration, the public representatives, and the citizens of the district.

This is yet another important step in the direction of economic and social development for the area of Anantnag. According to the Lieutenant Governor, “a slew of projects that are being dedicated to the people today in the Health, Education, Water Supply, and Urban Development sectors will empower all sections of society.”

He went on to say that by placing an emphasis on the people’s health and education, we would better equip them to face future difficulties and reinvigorate the development narrative of the district.

The Lieutenant Governor said that the laying of the foundation stone for projects in the Rural Development, PW (R&B), Jal Shakti, Fisheries, and Tourism sectors would provide a noticeable influence on the quality of people’s lives.

“The most important objective of the UT Administration is to achieve fast economic growth while simultaneously accelerating the pace of social development. According to the Lieutenant Governor, “Jammu and Kashmir is today at the forefront of development transformation in the country thanks to collective efforts to synergize the strengths of different sectors, improve standards of living, and seize the vast opportunities in the industrial sector.”

The office complex at town hall premises, MC Qazigund; the block office building at Ruhoo and Footbridge at Kanganhall; the NTPHC Kehribal under the Languishing Project; and the upgradation of roads in the district were among the 37 projects that were inaugurated by the Lt Governor. These projects have a total value of Rs. 124.17 crore. The beautification of the main market in Pahalgam was also one of the projects that was completed.

The 39 projects at a cost of Rs 166.56 crore for which foundation stones were laid by the Lt Governor include 20 projects of the Rural Development Department, 9 projects of PWD (R&B), 4 projects of Fisheries, the development of recreation spots on the River Bank at Pahalgam, Nagar Van (City Forest), Munjhadan, Mahind, and Water Supply Schemes at Siligam Tantraypora, Imoo Sundoo, Brad Ikhrajpora, and Shumhall Hassanoor.

Ch Mohammed Yousuf Gorsi, Chairman of the District Development Council for Anantnag; Vijay Kumar, Assistant Director General of Police for Kashmir; Shailender Kumar, Principal Secretary of Public Works (R&B); Dr. Mandeep Kumar Bhandari, Principal Secretary to the Lieutenant Governor; Sh Vijay Bidhuri, Divisional Commissioner for Kashmir; and other top officials were present.
